The Shetland is a pony who likes to work. Because of his power and his small size, the Shetland pony has been used in coal mines to tow small truck of coal. He shows all his strengh in harnessing by easily carrying two adults on circuits longer than 10 miles. Training is easy and fast for soon as one has some idea of driving and harnessing. Then the pleasure of the ride is obviously shared by the driver and his pony.
